Location/Accommodations

The great province of Alberta in western Canada offers hunters an array of big game and bird game opportunities from Hungarian partridge to whitetail deer. Here at Great White we are proud to offer you 3 very different and unique lodges each specializing in a different hunt in the provinces best habitat for your choice game. Our lodges are spacious and we take pride in providing our hunters with a home feel and great atmosphere. Home cooked meals by one of our local cooks are great to start off your mornings and fill you up after a great hunt. We pride ourselves on our trophy rooms and they serve as a great place to share the stories of the day’s hunt and past adventures.

Our Alcurve camp sits just a glance from the Saskatchewan border in the heart of the greatest natural waterfowl flyway on the continent. About a mile off the North Saskatchewan River, rolling hills and with rich agriculture land dotted with potholes and medium sized lakes make this camp a must for any true bird fanatic. This area is also home to some of the best whitetail and mule deer hunting the province has to offer. Only 20 minutes North of the city of Lloydminster we encourage our bird hunters to charter into the city’s small airport to cut down on their shuttle time.

Near Wainwright Alberta, about 2 hours south east of the provinces capital city Edmonton lies the small town of Metiskow and Great White’s unforgettable Mule deer camp. The numbers of deer seen on average on your next trip to the Metiskow camp will leave you speechless and confident that this is as good as it gets. We also have great success for trophy whitetails at this camp. On average the whitetails are a bit smaller than the bucks harvested at the Two Hills camp but each year we take a couple gaggers out of the sand hills of south central Alberta. Vast pastureland scattered through rolling sand hills make this just the right place for a big muly. The cover in this area consists of stunted poplars and willows, though on the thin side this habitat holds more deer than any other place in the province.

Drive an hour and a half northeast out of Edmonton, Alberta to the town of Two Hills and you’ll know your standing with giants. The area around our two hills camp is home to some of the biggest whitetails in the world. The habitat for these elusive giants is perfect here, and it’s evident by the rubs on trees nearly as big around as telephone posts, big scrapes, and huge tracks joined by toe drag’s left everywhere after a fresh snow.

Our camp sits just off the heavy timber of the North Saskatchewan River in prime country. The camp is spacious and the atmosphere really heats up as the deer begin to move and the hunters get back to camp to recount a successful hunt or the one that got away all while lounging around one of the best displays of trophy whitetails around.

The area we hunt from our Two Hills camp has the perfect mix of rich crops of grain and alphalfa combined with heavily treed fence lines and large wood lots. All this along with the impenetrable bush that follows the North Saskatchewan River and a smattering of smaller lakes and ravines make for not only prime territory for whitetail deer but waterfowl and some great mulys.
