Update On A 2006 Trophy

During the fall of 2006 our longtime friend and client Pete Mozer took a great non typical buck. Grossing in the 180’s this deer has it all and is a classic Alberta buck with lots of mass and dark antlers. The buck is ready for the wall now and looks great.

Congratulations again Pete on another great deer!

It took 3 years but worth the wait!

Our long time friend and client Ramsay Simmons was back again in 2007 to continue his search for great Alberta whitetails. Over the past 15 years or so Ramsay has taken multiple deer in the 180+ gross range and several other great trophies home to Georgia.

On his trip here at Great white in 07, He again was in the right spot a the right time and made an excellent running shot at this monster 4×4 as he chased a doe from a small wood lot. I first got pictures of this great buck in 04 season, and he was just as good then score wise. Since that sighting in 04 we’ve been close to getting this old giant on a few occasions. Throughout the 3 years that followed we have picked up his sheds twice and taken dozens of photos of him near our stands. The last shed we found in early 2007 was featured here at our shed gallery(click)

Congratulations to Ramsay on this great trophy and we thank him for putting us at ease knowing the great deer will always be remembered and appreciated.

Wrap up on the 07 deer season

Another fantastic season has just wrapped up here at Great White. Opening day for deer kicked off great with snow right off the get go and more in the weeks that followed. Conditions were perfect and the rut seemed to draw out much longer than usual. These perfect conditions made for another boomer year here in Central Alberta.
We’d like to congratulate all the hunters that took home nice trophies this past year.

07 Bird season

The 07 bird season was outstanding with countless full limit shoots and more great hunts to remember. Duck numbers were very high again this fall. As usual there were tons of geese and some real spectacular greater shoots through out the season.
We were really pleased to meet some great new friends and real hardcore waterfowlers! Please have a look at our Bird gallery to see pics from this past season and for those of you who would like to be in the gallery next year book soon as our spots are limited for this coming fall.

Story In Muley Crazy Mag!

We’re very happy to once again have a story in Muley Crazy magazine. The current and just released May/June issue of Muley Crazy includes the story of a 214 taken with Great White Holdings. Our friend and long time client Tom Brown from Arizona took this great deer with guide Don Laing. The deer sports a great drop tine and had it all, tine length, deep forks, width and great mass. Surely one of the best deer taken during the season in Alberta and one we will always remember here at Great White. Be sure to pick up the latest copy of Muley Crazy and check out the full story. Tom’s deer was not the only great deer taken that week. Ed Brogden took the other great non-typical pictured below the day before Tom with a score of 189. Several other deer in the high 170’s-180’s were also taken that week. Just another great season in Alberta’s prime muledeer zones with Great White Holdings.

Congratulations again to Tom for this great trophy buck!

Back from New Zealand

Lloyd McMahon has just returned from a great trip to NZ. The yearly trip was again a great success and wounderfull time. Long time friends and NZ outfitters Stuart and Judy Reese, As usual were fantastic hosts and made the trip one in a lifetime! John Vassilimis(long time friend & hunting partner) was on a hunt with Stuart, Judy and Lloyd when he took an outstanding Red stag for his trophy collection. This monster stag will score well over 400″ and is as heavy and massive as they come.

Thanks again to our friends Stuart and Judy Reese and congratulations to Johnny on the tremendous trophy stag!

2007 Waterfowl Hunts

The 2007 waterfowl season is shaping up to be a great one. Record amounts of percipitation for the last few seasons paired with the the heavy snow this winter should ensure water levels will remain in prime shape for nesting and staging birds this year. The duck populations have been on a huge increae throughout the province over the past few years, so with the high water things should only get better this season for ducks aswell.

Thanks to all our return clients and new hunters who have booked with us for the coming fall. We have a very limited amount of spots left so be sure to book now if your interested in a spot this season or in advance for fall 2008.
